Vietnam, US cities enhance cooperation

A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in the US, headed by Deputy Ambassador Nguyen Tien Minh, paid a two-day visit (May 28-29) to Pittsburgh to promote cooperation between the two cities.

Minh handed over a memo o­n cooperation between Da Nang and  Pittsburgh to Pittsburgh City Council’s President Doug Shields and relayed a letter from Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Tran Van Minh to the Pittsburgh Mayor.

The Pittsburgh City Council’s President expressed his hope to visit Vietnam in March 2010.

While in Pittsburgh, the Vietnamese Embassy’s delegation visited Chatham University and the Pittsburgh Technology Council.

Chatham University President Esther Barazzone and the Vietnamese delegation discussed a cooperation plan with Vietnam, focusing o­n training medical workers.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh Technology Council President Audrey Russo introduced the Vietnamese side about technologies that Vietnam could apply./.
