The Party’s Central Office Held a Discussion on About Gender and Gender Equality Activities
The discussion attracted approximately 70 representatives from departments, presidents of labour union locals and the whole female cadres of the Office.
After giving lecture on gender equality in Vietnam and the national strategy and action plan for the advancement of women in Vietnam to 2010, Mrs. Tran Thi Mai Huong, on behalf of the National Committee, put forward some suggestions to the Party’s Central Office. Her proposals included the following: carrying out research and counseling the Secretary Department to include gender issues into Directions and Resolutions of the Party; promulgating guidance writing on the enhancement of the leading role of the Party to the activities for the advancement of Vietnamese women; studying to establish the Central Office’s Department for the advancement ofwomen; scheming female cadres on the Central Office’s overall senior management program and improving and promoting female cadres.
