30/12/2010
CPV: On December 15, a training course themed, “Pain and Hope – 20 years of HIV/AIDS in Vietnam” was held by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology for almost 100 staff and teachers from 15 secondary and high schools in districts of Cau Giay, Long Bien and Hoan Kiem, in order to integrate anti-HIV/AIDS communication content into the curriculum.

During the training program, the trainees discussed issues with experts and speakers and HIV carriers, in order to build an educational program about HIV/AIDS for teenage students through visual displays, listening to HIV experts, seeing exhibits about 20 years of HIV/AIDS in Vietnam and community efforts in HIV/AIDS prevention and control.

After the training course, teachers will have more information about the disease and will integrate teaching with knowledge about biology and civics subjects in schools, helping students to gain knowledge and a correct view about HIV and HIV/AIDS carriers.

In the near future, every Saturday, secondary and high schools will cooperate with the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to take students to visit the museum and to be equipped knowledge about HIV, contributing to HIV/AIDS prevention and control.

This activity is being implemented in three pilot districts and it is planned to be conducted in 29 districts of Hanoi and other localities nationwide.
