Series of VWU’s activities commemorating 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory

* On March 4, 2024, the VWU opened the Exhibition "Women with Dien Bien" in Dien Bien city with 3 main contents: Contributions to the Dien Bien Phu Victory; for a Developed Dien Bien; Dien Bien - Rendezvous of the Future.

* On the afternoon of March 4, 2024, Dien Bien provincial Women's Union organized the Launching Ceremony "Pride of Dien Bien – Women’s Aspiration for Development" and took to the streets "Brilliant colors of Dien Bien" in response to the Launching Ceremony and the Trade Fair on introducing and promoting typical products of Dien Bien to enhance women’s economic empowerment.

* In the early days of March 2024, the VWU organized delegations to offer incense to commemorate the Heroes and martyrs who had made great contributions to Dien Bien Phu victory.

* The VWU successfully called on support to build 70 “Great Solidarity” houses, 2 “Affection” houses in Dien Bien Province and neigboring provinces. The VWU presented thousands of gifts and cash to mothers of martyrs, wives of Dien Bien martyrs and former Dien Bien soldiers, soldiers at the border gate, social pocily families, poor women, disadvantaged women and adopted children,… The total value of gifts and cash is more than VND 4 billion (about 160,000 USD).

* The art program "Forever love for the soldiers and people" and public dance "Women nationwide head to Dien Bien" was held in Dien Bien Phu city, on March 5, 2024 to demonstrate heroic memories and close love between soldiers and people during the struggle period. The program was livestreamed on the VWU’s fanpage.

* Workshop and Festival of innovative models/activities to promote good cultural practices of ethnic minorities, thus enhancing gender equality
The events were held from 5-6 March 2024 in Dien Bien City with the participation of 250 delegates from 50 provinces and cities of the Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children" under the National Target Program for Socio-economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, period 2021-2030.

* Exhibition "Follow the General's Footsteps"
An exhibition of historical poems and figures titled "Following the General's Footsteps" was organized and opened on March 13, 2024 by the Vietnamese Women's Museum in collaboration with the Nghe An Museum on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory. The exhibition includes 110 poems composed by the teacher, poet, and journalist Nguyen Thi My Dung, who had had the opportunity to meet and write many articles and poems about the talented General for more than 20 years.
