Vietnam's Air Defense-Air Force Service Honors Women's Contributions

Vietnam's Air Defense-Air Force Service recently honored 28 collectives and 31 individual women for their outstanding contributions over the past five years. The June 25 ceremony also recognized 226 exemplary students who are children of officers, professional soldiers, workers for their academic achievements in the 2024-2025 school year. Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Quyen, Party Secretary and the Service’s Political Commissar, attended and led the event.
Lt. Gen. Tran Ngoc Quyen – the Service’s Political Commissar and Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Head of the Women Affairs Unit of the Army - award outstanding Women's Union collectives for the period 2020 - 2025.

The entire Air Defense – Air Force currently has more than 3,000 women in 105 women's unions, with 190 female officers, of which 33 are in command or management positions in agencies and units, 112 women are Party Committee members at all levels, 100% have university or postgraduate degrees.

Colonel Nguyen Huy Tuan – the Service’s Deputy Political Commissar - acknowledge the outstanding achievements of female air force.

Colonel Nguyen Huy Tuan, the Service’s Deputy Political Commissar, lauded the women's achievements, noting how "Decisive Victory" emulation movements have integrated with women's initiatives like "Women of the Air Defense - Air Force Service are united- intellect, successfully complete tasks, build a happy family." These movements have fostered practical models such as "Model repair workshop" and community engagement through the "Patron-Parents Program," which provided 150,000,000 VND to 15 orphans.

Colonel Tuan stressed the importance of continuing to support women's development in the face of future challenges, urging leaders to create an environment that maximizes their potential. He concluded by highlighting the goal of building a strong women's union that serves as a "spiritual support of women’s union officers and members."
