Delegates at the ceremony
The VWU has closely coordinated with the Border Guard Command to jointly direct provincial and municipal Women’s Unions, as well as border guard stations, to mobilize resources from all levels, sectors, partner organizations, and sponsors to support border communes following the principle of “solidarity, creativity, practicality, and sustainability.”
During the 2021–2025 period, the program received close and consistent guidance from leaders of both sectors, with specific, focused, relevant, and practical content. It successfully gained strong consensus and enthusiastic support from all levels, sectors, partner units, and the wider community. Many provinces, cities, and units showed creativity in implementation and resource mobilization. As a result, over five years, the total resources mobilized by partner units to implement the program exceeded VND 294 billion. 1,390 civil projects and 834 “shelter of love” houses/ borderland shelter homes were donated. This support enabled most localities to meet and exceed all 7 key targets for the period, including public communication efforts, model development, activities to improve spiritual life, livelihood support, social welfare; strengthening the Women’s Union, building capacity for grassroots Women’s Union staff, etc.
