Foreigners flock to Vietnam on New Year

Thousands of foreign visitors arrived in Vietnam in the new year, mostly from Japan, Russia, and Europe.

The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, the Southern Airport Authority, and many travel companies welcomed and presented flowers to some of them at Tan Son Nhat International Airport Sunday evening.

 

Vietravel said it would receive 500 guests from the Japan and the Netherlands in the first week.

 

Saigontourist welcomed 180 Russians who arrived at 2am January 2. The corporation received another 10 groups of visitors from France, Germany, Spain, Russia, and Japan in the first two days.


The Bahamas-flagged cruise ship Seabourn-Spirit docked at Chan May Port in the central Thua Thien-Hue Province January 1 with 180 visitors from Europe and the US.
