Devoted teachers
This is one of practical tours of teacher Thiep and her colleagues in the faculty. Thiep is one of the experienced teachers who have associated with the country's young special education sector. Having graduated from a teachers' college, the teacher from Ha Tay province came to teach at the Hanoi-based Xa Dan primary school although she had dreamed of teaching in Da Lat, a romantic city with flowers. Although she is a young teacher, she had contacts with the hearing, visual and brain - impaired children. Therefore, she had to learn a lot from her colleagues and even from her pupils. She had to use all means to communicate with her pupils. When her pupils make a little progress she was very happy. Although her work is hard, she has never thought of giving up her job.
Her experiences in Xa Dan school have helped her a lot in her current work. She and her colleagues have attached importance to teaching with scientific research. Her faculty has carried out projects for disabled children and won many awards for their work.
Teacher Thiep is among 28 others of the faculty, who are young and devoted to the work. These teachers include Do Thi Thao from brain - impaired children unit; Nguyen Hiep Thuong from visual - impaired children; Nguyen Cam Huong from deaf and dump children unit and Hoang Yen, dean of the faculty, who is respected by foreign experts and colleagues for her expertise and good managerial skills. Hoang Yen is one of the people who have made contributions to building the faculty.
Another vice dean of the faculty is teacher Bui Thi Lam, 31, who is in charge of training. She said that her faculty was the first one on special education of the country. Therefore, the faculty faced both challenges and opportunities. Heavy tasks of the faculty require great efforts of its teachers.
That morning when I worked with the faculty, I saw that they were happy to prepare fresh bunch of flowers to congratulate one of their colleagues who have successfully completed her Master course. The article is like a small bunch of flower for the teachers on the occasion of their day.
