Women’s start-up in Central and Central Highlands regions learning ways to add value to products
Numerous challenges faced by women’s start-up to overcome
Start-up of business with products made from areca and leaves, Ms. Phan Vu Hoai Vui (Quang Nam province) shared that her business has been facing in capital shortage to buy machines and equipments.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien (Hue province), with products from red artichokes, shared that the biggest challenge was to develop new products to the market, therefore she expected to promote red artichoke products with healthy and economic value to the community.
Developing 5 essential oil products of the Central Highlands, Ms. Tong Thi Hoai Phuong (Dak Lak province) desired to mobilize capital, land fund and output for essential oils of lemongrass, basil, orange and tangerine.
Ms. Thu Hang (Po Lang cosmetics) who produces cosmetics from fresh avocados in Dak Lak province wanted to learn about products marketing skills.

Equipping women’s start-up with more knowledge
At the training, Nguyen Dang Tuan Minh, lecturer in innovation shared that opportunities always come from difficulties or challenges. It is important to know ways to add value to products, create uniqueness, difference and new values for products. The lecturer also guided women to finalize their business model, analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; ways to define customers; building value maps; identify and prioritize current needs, etc. Lectures are designed in simple and easy ways of understanding so that women were being able to access knowledge and apply it in practice.
In particular, the lecturer also spent time guiding project proposal authors how to develop and perfect their own business plan; practice presentations on the project, advise on issues relating to personnel recruitment, production model operation, call for investment capital, etc. These practical and useful guidance will help women continuing to perfect their ideas/projects proposal to participate in the final round of 2021 Women's Start-up Contest.
The Women’s Start-up Contest is an activity within the framework of the National Project "Supporting women’s start-up 2017 - 2025 period" (Project 939), run by the VWU since 2017.
