Women's Leadership Network: A bridge between VWU and ministries, branches and localities

The Women's Leadership Network of the VWU Central Executive Committee (comprised of the non-full-time EC members) held a meeting on March 1st to review its activities in 2023 and plan for 2024.

Many positive results achieved in 2023

In its second year, the Network expanded the membership and set up a policy development, feedback, and monitoring team.

The Network enthusiastically carried out meaningful activities within the "Patron-parents" Program, organizing the "Patron-mothers - Lighting up faith" program in Hưng Yên province and supporting 13 high school students with difficult backgrounds. They also provided gifts for disadvantaged women in Tien Lu district, Hung Yen province. Notably, many Network members are supporting VWU in providing psychological counseling for children and their caregivers.

Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Luong Ngoc Tram also reported many of the Network’s activities in response to the Program "Accompanying border women" and other charity activities for women and children.

In 2023, the Network supported 2,000$ for Affection House construction for a needy woman. In addition, the Network members along with their respective agencies and organizations supported 15 Unity Houses for Dien Bien Province, helping VWU to surpass 37 Houses compared to the set target.

Promote bridging role between VWU and their respective agencies

In 2024, the Network members will further enhance their role as non-full-time members of the VWU Central Executive Committee, serving as a bridge between VWU and their respective ministries, agencies, and organizations, contributing to gender equality and women’s advancement.

Members of the Women's Leadership Network

The Network is to continue to mobilize resources for such programs as "Accompanying border women", "Patron-parents", and Affection Houses for poor and disadvantaged women.

They are expected to actively participate in the VWU's activities as experts, lecturers, or consultants in their respective fields. The Network members will also contribute feedback to draft Law documents, organize seminars, workshops, and training sessions to share experience and enhance members’ capabilities.

VWU and provincial WUs propose cooperation activity between VWU and their respective ministries, agencies or organizations so as to contribute to implementing the resolutions of the 13th National Women's Congress.
