Japanese quartet to bring music shows to orphans and disabled children

A quartet from Japan, the Midori Goto, will make a performance tour of localities across Vietnam from December 22-30.


The group, including renowned violist Midori Goto and three string artists, will offer local music lovers a chance to enjoy works of famous composers like Mozart, Bartock, Bach, Tchaikovsky and Anderson.


Particularly, the group will bring music shows to orphans and disabled children of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu school for the blind in Hanoi, the Que Huong humanitarian centre in southern Binh Duong province and the Children's Village in Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh City.


On the sidelines of the programme, entitled ""Linking Community 2006", the Japanese artists plan to hold exchanges with lectures and students from the Conservatories in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and some schools and colleges in mountainous areas.


The tour is initiated by the NPO Music Sharing organisation in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi and the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi MInh City.
