Ms. Hope o­ng is the Corporate Affairs Director in Microsoft Taiwan, responsible for policy engagement, strategic projects and policy infrastructure. She dialogues with government, congress, think tank, and associations to help in building a sound business environment.

 

 

She also works as a volunteer for several women NGOs o­n projects that train young women leaders, giving speeches to encourage high school girls to choose their further study in science & engineering area. She also initiates a WOMEN Unlimited Potential project to train 30,000 women in IT.

 

Experiences:

 

·Represented Taiwan, ROC in several international meetings including APEC electronic commerce committee, APEC Telecommunication committee, APEC Women Leaders' Network forum, OECD’s women’s leadership forum, Global women summit.

·Served as an advisory board member of Information Security for Directorate General of Telecommunication, MOTC, during 1998~1999. She served as evaluation committee member for IT/Automation curriculum & Lab. design sponsorship program for MOE.

·YWCA Taipei, Board of director since 1997 ~ 2003. She initiated and launched a project which provides a 12-weeks training program to broaden young women’s international perspective and leadership capability in order to enable their future potential. This program trains 100 women per year starting from 2002.

·Chinese Information Software Association (CISA), Board of Director since 2002 ~ now. And Chair of government committee, CISA.

·Computer Science Association Republic of China (CSROC), Board of Director since 2002 ~ now.

·EMC Senior Sales Manager reports to country GM, responsible for Financial Services Industry including Insurance, Trading, Banking etc. (1 year)

·Worked for IBM Taiwan for over 18 years. She was in charge of IBM Public Affairs functions during 1998 - 2000, responsible for legal infrastructure, business environment and formation of strategic policy projects between Taiwan & IBM. She participated heavily in the telecommunication law amendment during privatization period in year 2000, Digital Signature Law, Y2K law, Government Procurement Law, Logistic center tax issue, e-invoice adoption etc. to ensure a sound business environment for IT industry. She initiated ROC government’s e-commerce A/B project via IBM’s e-procurement deployment. She has worked in various functions within IBM, responsible for e-business s/w selling, e-business ISV alliances, consulting service, government sector, education and healthcare industry segments.

ŸAsia Pacific SW Outstanding Sales award in 1997.

ŸAsia Pacific Excellent Award in external programs in 1998.

ŸStaff functions’ annual Achievement award in 1987, 1999, 2000.

Academic Background:

·B.S. in Botany from National Taiwan University, Taiwan.

·M.S. in Information and Computer Science from George Institute of Technology.

·3rd year in Law Department, Graduate School in National Soo-Chow University.
