Ho Chi Minh City awards "Excellent Female Entrepreneur" for first time

For the first time, the “Excellent Female Entrepreneur” Award was held by HCMC to honor those having contributions to the socio-economic development of the city and the country.

On March 22, the Award Ceremony was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Women Executives and Entrepreneurs (Hawee). Attending the events were Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President of the State, former President of the Vietnam Women's Union and Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Women's Union.

According to Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, this Award is one of the City's patriotic emulation activities. He asks the HCMC Women's Union and Hawee to make efforts to turn it a highly prestigious award which timely honors and spreads the good values of the HCMC female entrepreuners. He hopes the outstanding female entrepreneurs would continue to strive for success in their business and life.

Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, Hawee President, reiterates the Award’s value as a recognition and appreciation of female entrepreneurs’ contributions and their encouragement in the future.

Launched in October 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City’s “Excellent Female Entrepreneur” Award has been applauded by the HCMC business community in general and female entrepreneurs in particular. After more than 5 months of appraisal and evaluation, the organizing committee selected 8 excellent and 3 outstanding women entrepreuners from different sectors.

Female entrepreneurs play an important role in promoting national industrialization, modernization and international integration. With that role and mission, female entrepreneurs in recent years have affirmed their position in business development, making a strong contribution to the country's economy and the HCMC's GRDP growth rate of 5.81% in 2023.
