Dr. PHAM THI THU HANG

Born in 1962, in Hai Duong Province, Vietnam.Graduated Economic Faculty of Moscow University named M.S. Lomonosov, Russian in 1986 and received PH.D degree there in 1990. From 1994, Dr. Hang had worked at Consultancy Department of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). She completed a number of market studies and facilitate training programs in Vietnam o­n Advanced Business Management with INSEAD ( 1996, 1997). Since 1997, Dr. Hang was worked in the Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Center ( SME PC) of VCCI . Her present positionisDirector of the SME PC, managing supporting activities to Vietnamese SMEs.

The Women Entrepreuneurs Council of VCCI was established in May 2001 and Mrs. Hang was appointed as Vice-Excecutive Chairwoman of the Council.

In 2004 Dr. Hang has initiated and become Director of Enterprise Development Foundation under VCCI . The Foundation aims at Research and Development issues of business community.

Dr. Hang has many articles o­n SMEs and business women, which have been published in domestic magazines and abroad: Journal “Methodology research”, journal “Business”, Newspaper “Business Forum” and “Asian Small Business Review”. She is the Author of the country report “Creating a conducive Policy Environment for employment Creation in Small Enterprises in Viet Nam” published by ILO.

In March 2005 Dr. Hang had been invited by US State Department to participate in the “Women Leadership Program “ .

In 2003 Dr. Hang has been awarded by Prime Minister Phan Van Khai thanks to her contributions to the social economic development.

In 2005 she has been also awarded the merit medal “ For the Advancement of Women” by Vietnam Women Union for her works.
