TYM recognized as Typical Microfinance Institution in Citi- Vietnam Micro-entrepreneurship Awards of the year 2016 (CMA 2016)

The 10th CMA has been held in Vietnam to recognize typical institutions and individuals that have significantly contributed to the microfinance sector in 2016. In this year’s event, TYM has been awarded the title of the Typical Microfinance Institution of the year 2016. In addition, two TYM’s borrowers have been honorable to be 2 out of 30 micro-entrepreneurs to receive the award of Typical Microfinance Clients. They include Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong (Nam Dan district, Nghe An province) with the production model of Nam Dan soybean sauce and Mrs. Tran Thi Hue (Cua Lo town, Nghe An province) with the processing model of frozen food.

 CMA is an annual global activity found by Citi Foundation/Citi Bank Vietnam, and the program has been organized in Vietnam since 2007. The program takes place to recognize and award loan-clients who have many initiatives for effective use of micro-loans, strive for poverty elimination and prosperity, and show the will to support the community. The event also honors typical microfinance institutions that significantly contribute to the development of microfinance sector and to the struggle for hunger eradication and poverty reduction of Vietnamese people. CMA program is co-held by Citi Foundation/Citi Bank Vietnam, the Advisory Centre for Microfinance Resources for Small and Medium Microfinance Enterprises (formerly Vietnam Microfinance Working group – VMWG), Vietnam Small and Medium Enterprises Association (VINASME) with the support of the State Bank of Vietnam.

 

This year is the 10th year that TYM has joined the CMA program. By this year, TYM has won 8 awards of Typical Microfinance Institution of the year and 1 Typical Microfinance Institution Pro-poor Focus. Also,there have been 87 loan-clients awarded the title of Typical Microfinance Client and 18 credit officers recognized as the Excellent Credit Officers of the year.
