Spouse of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hoost Kohler visited the Central Vietnam Women’s Union

At the invitation of the President of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Triet, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hoost Kohler and his spouse Eva Luise Kohler paid an official visit to Vietnam from 21 – 23 May, 2007. On this occasion, Mme. Eva Kohler visited the Central Vietnam Women’s Union with the warm welcome from Mme. Ha Thi Khiet, Member of the Vietnam Central Committee of the Party (CCP), President of VWU, Chairperson of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam and Mme. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, Member of the CCP , First Vice President of VWU.

President Ha Thi Khiet warmly welcomed and expressed her deep gratitude towards the German President and his spouse for their interests in VWU o­n their very first visit to Vietnam; as well as highly appreciated the spouse’s sentiments for the VWU and the contributions of a number of German organizations for women in Vietnam recently.

 

Germany President’s spouse sincerely thanked VWU for its warm welcome and wished closer and more effective co-operations between German organizations and VWU in the future.

 

At present, there are some German organizations which are fundingprojects o­n vocational training and loans support for poor women in Vietnam to develop economy as Marie Schlei Association (MSA), chaired by Mme. Randzio, Former Member of the European Parliament, has funded 6 projects o­n providing vocational training and loans support for poor women; Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation in Germany has funded for TYM Fund development focusing o­n training, equipment and loan rotating fund; Organization for Economic Cooperation and Training – Sachsen Anhalt State (WASA) and Dessau Institute of Architectural Programming and Project Management (DAF), Anhalt University, Dessau have coordinated with VWU to develop a feasibility study for the project “Overall Healthcare for the Elderly in Vietnam” via Spicher Cooperation.
