The Prize “Support to Kova talent development” financed by Kova Paint Company is awarded annually to promote and encourage excellent individuals and collectivities including those in ethnic minorities who have gained achievements in mobilizing women in ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.

After 3 years of implementing, VWU has introduced individual and collective candidates that have achieved successes in mobilizing women in ethnic minorities and mountainous areas for the awards. Awardees are those who have overcome difficulties to successfully fulfill their tasks, bringing practical benefits for the community.

Typical collectivities are the Executive Board of Eawy communal Women’s Union, EaHLeo district, Dac Lac province and Executive Board of Binh Lu communal WU, Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province, who, despite difficult transportation conditions, have encouraged and facilitated women to participate in WU’s activities, communicated with women to raise their awareness of patriotism, unity, and being alert with women and children traffickers as well as instructed and facilitated women in family economic development to escape poverty.

Beside exemplary collectives there should be mentioned exemplaryindividuals such as Mrs. Zeil Roh, an Islamic woman of Cham ethnic group, President of Chau Phong communal WU, Tan Chau district, An Giang province, who has created and developed a number of appropriate operation models, attracting more women to participate in WU’s activities. She has also encouraged ethnic women to follow the Communist Party’s guidelines and policies and the State Laws on religious and ethnic issues; or Mrs. Lau Y Sua (Mong ethnic women), President of Muong Long communal WU, Ky Son district, Nghe An province, who has visited all hamlets of the commune to encourage people to replace 6 ha of opium trees with fruit trees and maize. As a result, she has contributed to the progress of the commune, attracted 67% of the local ethnic women to join WU and has been trusted and admired by local people.

A part from being enthusiastic in ethnic women mobilization, such women always prioritize the benefits of collectivities. They used their modest premium as the capital for women to develop economy. With 5 million VND of premium, Mrs. Tran Thi Than (Tay ethnic woman), President of Xuat Hoa communal WU, Bac Kan town, Bac Kan province invested in animal husbandry and farming and gained 14 million VND from animal husbandry and 8 million VND from farming. With initial fruit, she invested in economic development and lent 2 women with 11 breeding pigs without interest.
