An extremely enthusiastic woman

Finishing of the 5-year term (2003-2007), UNAIDS Representative Mme. Nancy Fee has left great impression in Vietnamese friends and colleagues as a very enthusiastic, sincere and hard working woman and is heading to Indonesia to her new post there

In the warm farewell party at the Head Office of VWU, Mme. Ha Thi Khiet, Member of the Central Communist Party, Chairwoman of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women highly appreciated Mme Nancy Fee’s contribution to the fight against HIV/AID in Vietnam. Especially, she has fully supported VWU’s activities against HIV/AIDS. Mme. Khiet hoped that even though Mme. Nancy Fee no longer works in Vietnam, but in her new position and participation in international activities, she will continue sharing her experience and voice out for Vietnam and VWU in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Mme. Khiet wished her a safe trip and more achievements in the new office.

In responsive to the sincerity of Mme. Khiet, Mme. Nancy Fee promised to do her best contributing to the fight against HIV/AIDS of the mankind and especially of Vietnam – where she considers as her second home country and the Vietnamese colleagues and women as her family members.

 

During her term in Vietnam, Mme. Nancy Fee had made many significant contributions to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

 

-She actively participated in completing the National Strategy o­n HIV/AIDS prevention 2005-2010 and the Vision 2020, taking part in enhancing capability of related Party’s and State’s agencies o­n instructing HIV/AIDS prevention activities.

 

-She participated in many communication campaigns launched by VWU and made many inspiring speeches to the Vietnamese women to more actively and enthusiastically in protecting themselves and their family from HIV/AIDS.

 

-She also raised the Gender and HIV/AIDS issue at the conferences and workshops as a warning of HIV/AIDS infection risk and its impacts o­n women and children.

 

She took part in many activities in order to promote Gender equality in caring and assisting HIV infected persons, meeting with people leaving with HIV in many cities/ provinces and encouraged them with her friendship and sharing.
