On January 19, 2024, in Hanoi, Vice President of Vietnam Women’s Union Tran Lan Phuong took the helm at the TYM Review Conference to deliberate on TYM’s performance in 2023 and to lay out the roadmap for the implementation of the 2024 business plan.
On the occasion of the coming Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet) 2024, Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) at all levels has visited and presented gifts to social policy beneficiaries living in difficult circumstances, disadvantaged VWU members, and women in several provinces. Thousands of Tet gifts were presented to heroic Vietnamese mothers, mothers of martyrs, the elderly, disadvantaged women, disabled children, border guards nationwide.
Over the past time, studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style has gradually become a regular job of the Bac Lieu Women’s Union at all levels in the province. On January 5, within the framework of the 8th session of the 13th Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), the Central VWU held a launching ceremony for the 2024 theme "Promoting the application of information technology in VWU activities" and two contests: Applying information technology (IT) in VWU’s 2024 activities and Composing songs on Vietnamese Women and Mothers.
On January 5th, at the 8th session of the 13th Vietnam Women’s Union’s Central Executive Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien – Member of VWU Presidium and Director General of Central VWU’s Administration Department - was elected VWU Vice President.
Recently, the Center for Women and Development, Women’s Union Vietnam, organised the launch of the book “Towards a Peaceful Horizon - Stories of Women Surviving Domestic Violence, Abuse and Human Trafficking” in Hanoi.
International integration brings both opportunities and challenges for women in various fields. Women need to enhance their knowledge and skills to avoid the risk of falling behind. To support women's proactive and effective integration, the Central Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) directed the development of some models for supporting women's integration in 2021.
