Responding to the Month of Action for the Environment and World Environment Day (June 5), VWU at all levels across the country is promoting women's active participation in environmental protection for a greener, cleaner, safer life.

Ba Vi, June 19: the central VWU organized the meeting themed “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”

VWU Vice President Nguyen Thi Minh Huong stressed that environmental issues directly impact the economy, health, and quality of life, especially affecting women and girls. The VWU has actively collaborated with various agencies to engage its members and women in environmental protection initiatives such as the “5 Without-s and 3 Clean-s” campaign, the national target program for building new-style rural areas, the "Anti-plastic waste" movement, and tree planting, etc.

At the event

Da Nang Women's Union and Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway JSC signed a cooperation program to enhance the city's beauty. Accordingly, the “Rail line - Flower Street” model was launched. On this occasion, VWU officials and members planted trees and flowers along the railway, to make it a beautiful and unforgettable place in the memory of each tourist coming to Danang.

Thanh Hoa province: National Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Week was launched

At the launching ceremony, Sam Son Women's Union urged everyone to unite in safeguarding the environment, rejecting plastic waste, and promoting a tourist-friendly coastal city. Each person plays an important role in advocating for and engaging others in protecting the environment and clean water sources for a healthier community.

Kontum province: Quyet Thang Ward Women's Union organizes communication activities in response to World Environment Day in combination with the “Patron-parent” program.

Local leaders buy trees to support the “Patron-parent” Program

At the event, the Ward Women's Union encouraged buying green trees to support the “Patron-parent” program and exchanging waste for trees. As a result, 50 succulent plants were sold for 30 USD, and 50 green plants were exchanged for 500 kg of recyclables. Quyet Thang Ward Trade Union donated 50 green trees to support the Women's Union movement.
