The Central VWU launches the ceremony to response to the “Tree Planting Festival 2025”
Member of the Party Central Committee, VWU President Nguyen Thi Tuyen (right); Deputy Head of the Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity, Education and Mass Mobilization Nguyen Lam (middle) and VWU Vice-President (left) Tran Lan Phuong plant a tree at the launching ceremony Speaking at the launch of the "Tree Planting Festival," Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Member of the Party Central Committee and VWU President, emphasized that in response to the Prime Minister's One Billion Trees Program for the 2021-2025 period and the annual "Tree Planting Festival," the VWU Presidium has, since 2022, called on WUs at all levels, its members, and women nationwide to actively plant trees under the initiative: "Women cultivate the future - for the benefit of ten years of planting trees, for the benefit of a hundred years of cultivating people" and in the spirit of "Each woman plant one tree" and "Each VWU branch has one tree Project."
As a result, since the beginning of the term, more than 27 million trees have been newly planted. WUs across the country have organized numerous activities to plant, care for, and protect trees, contributing to a greener Vietnam.

The launch ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival" will continue to uphold the nation's tradition of "Tree planting festival in forever memory of President Ho Chi Minh," held annually during the Lunar New Year. This initiative aims to further raise awareness, promote responsibility, and inspire enthusiasm among VWU members, women, and people from all walks of life in the early days of the new year. It is also a meaningful event to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 115th anniversary of the International Women's Day (March 8), and many other significant national celebrations.

At the ceremony, the Central VWU presented 50 gift packages for 20 female Party members who had been awarded the Party Badge and 30 WU members in difficult circumstances in Chi Linh City. Additionally, the VWU planted nearly 200 trees and provided a forest-based livelihood model to three women-led households, each receiving 3,000 acacia trees.
