Quick fact on elected women to People's Councils at all levels for 2021-2026 term

According to the quick information from some provincial Election Committees, the percentage of women elected to the provincial People's Council has reached over 30 percent - the target set out for the women’s representation in the People's Council at all levels.

For example, in Bac Kan, 25 of 50 elected members to the provincial People’s Council are women, accounting for 50%. The numbers are respectively 23 of 55 (41.81%) in Tuyen Quang province, 41 of 94 (43, 6%) in Ho Chi Minh City, and 23 of 66 (34.85%) in Lam Dong province, etc.

In particular, there are provinces where the percentage of elected women to the People's Councils at all levels is over 30 percent. For example, in Son La province, the percentage of women elected to the People's Councils is 35.38% at provincial level; 37.53% at district level and 41.35% at communal level.

In some provinces, although the percentage of elected women to the People Councils does not reach 30 percent, it is higher than the previous terms. For example, in Thai Binh province, women elected to the provincial People's Council comprise 29.03% - an increase of 7.8%, which is the highest proportion of women in the last 4 elections.

This is an exciting result, recognizing the contributions of women in all aspects of life and socio - economic development of the localities.
