Attending the conference were representatives from news agencies, central and Hanoi newspapers. Vice – President of Vietnam Women’s Union Hoang Thi Ai Nhien presided the conference.
At the conference, Ms. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien stated generally the results of the Women’s Union’s activities at all level through out the country. She also proposed news agencies, newspapers and televisions to cooperate actively with VWU to communicate Union’s activities and women’s movement to celebrate the 78thbirth day of the Vietnam Women’s Union such as: to hold Vietnam Women Award Ceremony 2008; to launch the campaign of “Providing Affection Shelters for poor women and women in special difficulties, to make donation in support to women and children victimized by recent natural calamities; to disseminate the results of 10-year implementation of the Central Party Committee’s Resolution # 3 (of the 8th term) on the work of women’ carders promotion as well as the results of 1 year implementing the Resolution of the 10th National Women Congress by the women’s union at all levels; to hold a special exhibition on “Street Vendors” at Vietnam Women’s Museum; the presence of two books: “Mother is away from home” and “Children in war fire”… published with the finance of Chihiro’s Art Museum (Japan); to confer Kovaleskaia Award 2007, to continue the direction of building models to successfully implement the 10th National Congress Resolution…
In addition, Mrs. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien also provided information relating to issues which draw press’s attention: the result of the implementation of Gender Equality Law and, Domestic Violence Prevention Law; Good models of following Ho Chi Minh example practicing economy, fighting against embezzling and wasting.
