On 3rd Jan. 2005 President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Khiet sent condolences to some Women's Organizations in the South and Southest Asia countries most seriously devastated on 26 December 20

On these final days of the year 2004, together with all people in the world, we are so stunned by the thunder-likenews that the Tsunami o­n December 26^th has caused disasters in lives and material losses for many countries in South East Asia, South Asia and other countries in the world, taken away tens of thousands of lives, made millions of other people injured or homeless, of whom many are women and children.

At these enormous losses physically and materially stricken by this disaster, o­n behalf of all Vietnamese women, the Vietnam Women’s Union conveys our deepest condolences to the victims’ families and to your country.

We do hope that, with your great efforts and with the assistance from international community, your country will soon overcome this painful event and recover from the casualties caused by this disaster.

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to share with you these sufferings.
