Taking the 32C National Highway, tourists will come to three well-known historical sites of Ha Hoa district, Yen Bai province that have been recognised as national sites, including Au Co Temple in Hien Luong commune, Dong Temple and Nghe Temple in Van Lang commune.

The Nghe Temple in Van Lang commune worships two talented generals Le Thi A Lan and Le Anh Tuan of Trung sisters who raised flags to organise an uprising against foreign invaders in 40 AD to gain independence for the country.

The Nghe Temple was built hundreds of years ago. The temple includes three buildings with two harems. The temple has been repaired again and again and now looks like the architecture style of the post Le dynasty (in early 15th century). The temple was much repaired in 1925.

Trung Sisters were excellent at literature and martial arts. Facing the situation that the country was invaded and the husband was killed, Trung Sisters raised the flag to organise an uprising in the spring of the Year of the Mouse (40 AD).

In response to the calling, the twins Le Thi A Lan and Le Anh Tuan, gathering 2,000 others, came to Me Linh, where the Trung Sisters were living, to join the uprising.

After the country was liberated and the twins died, the King Trung required the construction of a temple to worship the twin in Van Lang.
