NCFAW Chairwoman Ha Thi Khiet visits Cambodia

The visit aimed at establishing cooperation and relations between the two national mechanisms for women’s Advancement and Gender Equality. They discussed their experiences, common issues, how to enhance the next cooperation phases, as well as strengthen and further the friendship and solidarity between the women of both countries ... During the meeting, the two sides discussed their mechanisms for development, stated significant achievements and shared obstacles in their activities for women’s advancement. During the visit, Mme Ha Thi Khiet visited a vocational training center for rural women, managed by women, such as: a foundation of silk making, bamboo – rattan weaving produces for exportation in Kampong Cham and Xiem Riep, Cambodia. The Cambodia side highly appreciated the significance of the visit by President Ha Thi Khiet’s and her suggestions for enhancing poverty reduction and hunger alleviation activities for women. The two sides agreed to continue enhancing information and exchanging experiences to work for the advancement of women in the coming years.
