The event "Aspirations for advancement of ethnic minority women and children" aimed to raise public awareness of responsibilities and mobilize the participation of all levels, sectors and the whole society in realizing gender equality and addressing urgent issues facing ethnic minority women and children; encouraging and creating favourable conditions for ethnic minority women and children to develop with the spirit of "leaving no one behind".

Speaking at the opening, Member of the Party Central Committee, VWU President Ha Thi Nga stated that assigned by the Government to coordinate the implementation of Component Project No. 8 "Realizing gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children" under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas for 2021 - 2030 period, over the past time, the VWU has established a Central Project Management Board, proactively developed directions and guidelines, organized training and supported the provincial women’s unions, and closely coordinated with relevant ministries, agencies and localities in implementing the project.

Ms. Nga also emphasized that the VWU commited to always making efforts to promote the rights of and giving opportunities to women and children in realizing their aspirations to develop a prosperous and happy Vietnam.
