Hung Yen Provincial Women’s Union: Disbursing a new capital of more than 60 billion VND

In the first 6 months of 2009, all levels of Hung Yen Provincial Women’s Union have used reputation as collateral to guaranty 60 billion VNDfrom Provincial Social Policy Bank to disburse loans to WU’s members raising the total VWU’s management capital to 388 billion VND for 49,967 borrowers.

So as to help women manage and make use of loans, of the Provincial Women’s Union coordinated with Social Policy Bank to organize 51 training classes o­n capital management for 1.906 women cadres and members.

 

Loans monitoring and evaluation has been conducted in combination with regular monitoring and evaluation of WU o­n its action plan implementation. As a result, almost units implemented seriously the direction of higher WU and the regulation of the Bank in the implementation of entrusting program. All levels of WU have managed entrusting receipts and expenses and commission according to VWU’s instructions. Borrowers used loans effectively; paid interest and principal in time, the percentage of repayment has been 99%.

 

Besides that, each level of WU has actively mobilized women to help each other develop household economy, reduce poverty sustainably and try to get rich… Since the beginning of the year, of the Provincial WU has mobilized 4.369 members to help 7.287 people with nearly 7 billion VND and 19,685 working day wages. It has helped 6,110/9,768 poor women headed households reaching 62.4%.

 

Provincial Women’s Union has continued its coordination with the Department of Construction Technology and Science to implement the project “Transfer new technology and science for women” at 42 units in the province with activities such as transferring new technology and science, creating new production models, and organizing o­n-spot conference o­n production model evaluation … It has also coordinated with functional branches to organize 395 classes o­n transferring technology and science for 37.805 women, 9 classes o­n vocational training for 558 women to name a few.
