Enhancing the Skills of about 500 Poor Women
Nearly 500 poor women were equipped with basic knowledge to enhance the value of their products. This was done through 9 training classes organized by the Ethnics and Religions Department of VWU joining with WU at all levels.
The training class focuses on topics such as: techniques for improving the model of products, products diversification-oriented to meet the tastes of consumers, widening the market to name a few. The above activities aim to help these women become more confident in restoring and developing their traditional handicraft and increasing their incomes in order to work towards eradicating hunger and alleviating poverty by themselves.
This is one activity of the project “Supporting production, developing career in poor communes”. Besides, the project also supports women producers of sedge mats in Nhan Chinh commune (Ninh Binh province). About nearly 100 women in the commune have been provided with jobs. The project also aims at setting up a professional women’s union branch and group in order to increase the membership of local women’s union among the religious women in the province.
