Conferring Merit Medals and Certificate of Merit on the National Assembly members

With the agreement of 73% deputies of National Assembly, the 11th National Assembly approved the Law on Gender Equality at its 10th Meeting which shows the interest of the highest power authority of the State on gender equality and development of women in Vietnam.

In recognition of the active contribution of N.A deputies, the VWU’s Presidium held a ceremony to confer its Merit Medals and Certificate of Merits o­n them in the evening of 23rd March o­n the occasion of the last session of the 11th National Assembly. Attending the ceremony were Ms. Ha Thi Khiet, Member of the Central Party Committee, President of the VWU, President of NCFAW and VWU’s Vice Presidents Truong Thi Khue, Nguyen Thi Oanh and Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa.

 

Giving speech at the ceremony, Ms. Truong Thi Khue acknowledged the special attention paid by N.A deputies to the Gender Equality Law process since its beginning of including into the Laws Constructing Program of the 11th National Assembly to the drafting and submitting for approval. They have also contributed their ideas and comments to improve the Law as well as raised issues to related authorities in implementing and putting the law into effect. VWU’s Standing Vice President urged that National Assembly deputies, o­n their positions, will continue caring and enhancing the supervision to the implementation of the Law o­n Gender Equality by related authorities.

 

At the ceremony, Mme Ha Thi Khiet together with Vice Presidents of the VWU conferred Merit Medals and the VWU’s certificate of merit o­n National Assembly deputies.
