Celebrating International Women’s Day March 8th

Vietnam Women’s Union has celebrated a solemn anniversary and organized diversified activities: musical performance, fashion show with the attendance of staffs from 16 departments/units of VWU; members of International Women Club, officers and soldiers from Binh Ca & Phu Thong battalions, which are twinned with VWU.

Opening the ceremony, Mme Ha Thi Khiet, Member of Central Committee of Vietnam Communist Party, President of VWU, Chairwoman of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam has emphasized o­n the historical significant meaning of the International Women’s Day March 8^th, the virtuous tradition “heroic, courageous, loyal and responsible” of Vietnamese women in the struggle for national construction and defence, which is still remained and keeps shining in the peace and construction period.

With the advancement spirit of women all over the world, courageous mind of Hai Ba Trung, o­n behalf of VWU’s staff, members and women in Vietnam, President of VWU, Mme Ha Thi Khiet has encouraged women’s determination: develop the spirit of self-control, be dynamic and creative; broaden exchanges in relations and cooperation activities, contribute to the effort to raise the role and position of VWU, strive for the equality objective of women in Vietnam in the integration and development era.

On this occasion, Center of Women and Development (CWD) has officially opened its Website (www.women-bds.com) which aimed to support enterprises development activities, CWD’s activities. Besides, CWD organized various cultural, musical activities, sporting events, exhibition and drawing contest for children with the theme “Present for March 8^th”.
