According to the provincial data, the entire province currently has over 120,000 female workers in businesses and employing units, accounting for 49% of the labor force. In particular, 85 - 95% of workers are female in some industries related to garment, leather shoes, seafood processing and agricultural products.

In most of the enterprises in the province, female employees have been fully offered policies such as being equal with male in recruitment, employment security, wages, benefits of social insurance and other welfare regimes. Moreover, many businesses have applied policies priority for female labor, e.g., providing financial support for child keeping, additional allowance of 500,000 VND for female workers giving birth, and reducing one hour per working day with full salary for female employees from their 7th month of pregnancy, etc. In addition, female employees enjoyed favorable conditions to participate in production, business and management. At the same time, they have been ensured vocational trainings and professional fostering to develop their abilities.

However, there are still limitations on implementing policies for female labor in few businesses. They have to work beyond the prescribed time, suffering late payments for sick leave, maternity leave, severance allowance and late enrollment of social insurance. The majority of female workers in enterprises of garment, footwear, and seafood processing have been also affected on their psychology and health due to the unsatisfactory working conditions.

Speaking at the monitoring session, Ms. Minh Huong highly appreciated the implementation of many policies and priority regimes for female labor in the province. She requested the provincial leaders to accelerate communication activities for local enterprises on laws and benefits of using female labor as well. Mr. Dang Minh Thong affirmed to pay attention to implement the female labor related policies, and also required relevant local departments and branches to overcome difficulties in solving female labor issues to successfully complete assigned tasks.
