Over the past time, Vietnam has achieved many positive results in narrowing the gender gap in many fields. Viet Nam's gender equality ranking index is improved every year and is rated as one of the 10 countries that best implements Goal No. 5 on promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. However, economic pressures, diseases, natural disasters and especially the Covid-19 pandemic have significantly increased violence against women and girls, pushing them into more difficult circumstances and creating new challenges. Therefore, empowering women, investing in gender equality, and preventing violence against women and children is more important than ever.
