  • Giving “Affection Houses” to women in need - meaningful work of WUs at all levels

    Mobilizing resources to build “Affection Houses” and repairing houses for poor women and women with extremely difficult circumstances have been done by WUs across the country over the past years, thereby helping many women have a safe house to live in, feel secure to do business, and get better in life.
  • Encouragement letter by VWU President to women in Covid-19 hardest-hit localities

    On behalf of VWU Presidium, President Ha Thi Nga sent an encouragement letter to VWU staff and women in Da Nang City and Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces who are facing a new wave of Covid-19.
  • Rights and interests of female migrant workers to be ensured before, during and after migration

    In order to provide social criticism and contribute to achieving gender equality goals, on the morning of May 19, 2020 the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) organized a consultation workshop on gender aspects of the Draft Law on Vietnamese guest workers under contract (amended) (Law No. 72).
  • Extending gratitude to 300 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers nationwide

    In the morning of July 24, the Ministry of National Defence in collaboration with the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs organized a meeting in Hanoi to express gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers nationwide marking the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2020). It was attended by 300 women representing 4,962 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers across the country.

    On the morning of June 19 in Hanoi, Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) with the support of the Asia Foundation in Vietnam organized a workshop sharing experiences and initiatives to increase the participation of women in politics, which attracted huge participation of leaders, managers, and experts from ministries, branches, and international organizations.
  • Vietnam’s world cultural heritages honoured through Ao Dai

    Twenty-one collections of Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress), which featured world cultural heritages of Vietnam, were introduced to the public at a programme held at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature) on June 28.
  • “One Stop Support Office” to support sustainable reintegration of returning female migrants

    Establishing and operating “One Stop Support Office” (OSSO) to support sustainable reintegration of repatriating women and their families is an important goal of the Project “Strengthening Vietnamese Capacity for Sustainable Reintegration of Returning Migrants Women and their Households in Vietnam” implemented by the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) with the sponsorship of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam.

    A new project targeting the elimination of violence against women and children in Vietnam was launched on June 17, in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
