The national team, coached by Tran Ngoc Thai Tuan, will train in Hanoi’s Ha Dong district over 40 days, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
All the players have been selected from VFF’s recent fact-finding tours of localities where women’s football is developing strongly. They are scheduled to have three friendly matches before competing in the regional football championship to be held in Yangon, Myanmar, from October 9-18.
Vietnam is in Group B together with the Philippines, Laos and Myanmar B, while Group A comprises Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar A. The teams will play in a round-robin format and group winners and first runners-up will enter the semi-finals.
Vietnam will play against Myanmar B on October 10, Laos on October 12 and the Philippines two days later.
