Thuan Chau district - Son La province: 100% Presidents of grassroots Women’s Unions professionally trained

Every year, the district Women’s Union organizes training classes for 100% of core cadres and 60% of members in the grassroots Executive Board. Therefore, the Women’s Union’s cadres there basically meet the demand of the Union’s activities.

Furthermore, the Women’s Union has also focused o­n surveying, strengthening the machinery of the grassroots, improving the quality nd renovating the modality of its operation, building many types of club such as Solidarity Club, Drug Prevention Club, Law Dissemination Club, Model Mother-in-law and Gentle Daughter-in-Law Club to name a few in order to gather and attract new members.

So far, 100% of hamlets and villages in the district have had Women’s Unions set up and operated practically and effectively. Every year, over 60% of the grassroots Women's Unions have been entitled Excellent Units. Last term (2001-2006), in the district there were 3,304 Women’s Union members, most of whom are ethnic women./.
