Relations boosted between Women's Unions of Vietnam and China

At the invitation of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), VWU’s delegation was headed by H.E. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of the Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee, President of VWU had a working visit to China from December 18th -22th.

During the visit, VWU’s President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha met with H.E. Mrs. Shen Yueyue, Vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (National Assembly), President of the All-China Women's Federation at the Great Hall of the People. She had also a meeting with Mrs. Deng Li, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF.

Both sides reiterated the common perception reached by the leaders of the two Parties and two States, attaching great importance to the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China, and promoting people’s exchanges, including exchanges between womens of two countries. The two sides also reviewed the cooperation activities between the VWU and ACWF so far, and exchanged respective organization’s experience in ensuring women’s interests and promoting theirrole in the new era.

Earlier in Nanning city, with the witness of VWU President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, a MOU signing ceremony took place between the Women’s Unions of 4 Vietnamese provinces (i.e. Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Quang Ninh, Lang Son) and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Women's Union. This is an important MOU, helping formalize the exchange and cooperation activities between the local Women's Unions of the two countries, which contributes to the building of a border of peace, cooperation and development. The MOU covers three main cooperation areas, which are strengthened exchange of delegations, training and capacity building for women's innovation and start-up efforts, and communication o­n legal regulations and harmonious border construction.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to several operation schemesof ACWF and visited Chinese Women's University in Beijing. In Shanghai and Guangxi, the delegation also had meetings with the local leaders.

The visit achieved good results, enhancing the understanding between the two Women’s Unions and opening up cooperation opportunities at both central and local levels. The VWU’s delegation has learned good experiences from ACWF such as business start-up, vocational training, capacity building for female staff, and mobilizing social contribution for women’s activities, etc. The trip has contributed to enhancing the friendship and cooperation between the two Women's Unions, promoting people-to-people exchanges and developing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China./
