Prime Minister approves a program for preventation of trafficking women and children

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai recently signed the decision number 130/2004-QD­-Ttg to approve a program for the prevention of trafficking of women and children from 2004 to 2010. A detailed action plan was included.

This was an important decision to raise awareness and actions at every level of society to prevent trafficking of women and children. The program includes such major goals as: educating the public about the evil of trafficking and encouraging them to fight against it and to support the victims' return home, creating a complete legal structure related to trafficking women and children. The program was jointly implemented by Ministry of Police, different branches and ministries, and provincial People's Committees. The National Budget and other domestic and international legal financial sources will fund the program.
