Orientation Workshop on Disaster Risk Management and Response to Climate Change in Vietnam

The workshop was an opportunity for VWU cadres to learn about and discuss the issues of disaster risk management and responses to climate change; the relations between gender issues and approaches to mainstream gender into the activities of disaster risk management and response to climate change.

After the two-day workshop,participants were equipped with basic knowledge relating to disaster and climate change, models of disaster risk management; national strategy of disaster risk management until 2020 and related projects; national goals program in response to climate change and mechanism systems, as well as national plans of action. International experts from Oxfam also introduced goals and principles of action, priorities of gender and gender mainstreaming into projects of disaster risk management and response to climate change.
