Hanoi lead in first stage

Securing an impressive 4-1 win over Thai Nguyen on June 30, Hanoi have taken the top place in the first leg of the National Women's Football Championship with 10 points.

It was an important game for Hanoi in the race to lead the table if they would win with three goals clear. The hosts launched consecutive attacks right after the referee's whistle. 

 

Huyen Linh opened the score for Hanoi in the 7th minute. Later in the 10th and 16th minutes, Tuyen Mai had two good opportunities however she failed to widen the gap.

 

Thai Nguyen equalised following a long shot by Thi Quyen in the last minute of the first half.

 

After the break, Hanoi continued to dominate the game and as a result, Tuyet Mai scored two more goals in the 68th and 87th minutes. o­ne minute later, Ngoc Cham fixed the match at 4-1 score, helping her team take the top place after five rounds. 

 

On the same day, defending champions Vietnam Minerals and Coal was beaten 1-0 by Ha Tay and dropped from first to third place in the first leg.

 

Both teams missed chances in the first half to go ahead. The deadlock was broken in the 67th minute when Thi Muon scored the o­nly goal of the match, helping Ha Tay secure the second place.

 

The championship is divided into two stages. The first stage, from June 16 to June 30, took place in Hanoi and the second will be played in Ho Chi Minh City from July 9-25.
