Free Academic and Vocational Courses for the Invalid

The Vocational Training Center for the Invalid of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), under Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will organize free academic and vocational courses for the invalid.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, deputy manager of the Vocational Training Center for the Invalid, those with 20 percent disability and over will be given free academic and vocational courses.

The center will also help them find jobs after finishing the courses.  Their disability is verified by HCMC Medical Test Center. Depending o­n their academic standard, the disability percentage and requirements of the job, the center will consult and arrange suitable courses.


In addition, the center also provides a monthly VND150, 000 per apprentice, and daily VND5, 000 per trainee. Now, the center has about 400 trainees and apprentices. There are free accommodation for non local students.


“The vocational courses consist of electronics, electrical, advertising design, embroidery, informatics, accounting, etc. If the trainees have the demands of vocational courses such as mobile phone repairing, foreign languages, jewellery that are not yet available, we will introduce them to other centers. Besides, we also introduce them to enterprises to look for job. At the present, we are enrolling a few trainees from provinces, trainees from poor or state-favored families from the highlands first. Free application forms are given at the center,” Mr. Hieu said
