Exhibition on renovated Vietnam opened

An exhibition entitled “Vietnam – 20 Years of Renovation,” is one of the activities to welcome the upcoming 10th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and opens at the Centre for Culture and Art Exhibition in Hoa Lu street, Hanoi.

The exhibition has three parts, the Past, including the 6th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the congress ushering in the renovation process in Vietnam; and the achievements after 20 years of renovation.


More than 100 photos, 200 objects, documents and models praise the Vietnam Communist Party through different period of time.


The exhibition helps viewers understand more about the life of Vietnamese people during the war time, and their achievements gained in various fields during the industrialisation and modernisation process.


Also within the exhibition, there’s a display of 60 panel posters which have been selected from 400 entries of artists nationwide from a recent contest.


Many other cultural and artistic activities are being held nationwide to welcome the 10th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, especially in Hanoi, where it will take place from April 18-25.

The Department of Performance Arts, in co-ordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Information, will introduce 10 typical stage works, which won high prizes at 2004-2005 festivals, in Hanoi from April 14-17. These works focus o­n praising the nation's two heroic struggles for independence and freedom and the new image of Vietnamese people in the renovation process.

A musical show entitled "Advancing under the Party's flag" will be organised at the Cultural Friendship Palace in the evening of April 14 with the participation of 400 famous artists.

Another musical programme to praise the Party, Uncle Ho and the Vietnamese people in the war as well as the socialism construction process will be performed by central and Hanoi art troupes at the August Revolution Square o­n April 17.


The Vietnam Cinema Department, from April 15-25, will organise a film week at the National Cinema Centre with many documentary and video films.


The success of the 10th Party Congress will be marked by a march in Dinh Tien Hoang Street and a typical music performance.
