2006 Vietnamese Women Prize Awarding Ceremony

Four collectives and four individuals were honored to be awarded

In the morning of October 20, 2006, the Awarding Ceremony of 2006 Vietnamese Women Prize was solemnly held at the head office of the Central Vietnam Women's Union. Former Vice President of the State Nguyen Thi Binh attended and awarded prizes to collective and individual winners.

 

The Vietnamese Women Prize is an annual prize, which is awarded to outsanding collectives and individuals in all aspect of life o­n the occasion of the foundation day of the Vietnam Women's Union. This year, the Prize was awarded to 4 collectives and 4 individuals who are the best achievers among 32 nominated o­nes. The winners are the staffs and the workers of the packaging team of the Z121 factory, Ministry of National Defence; Ho Chi Minh Polytechnic University's female staff; Ha Tinh Women's Union; female working staff of the Song Da Corporation, Ministry of Construction; and 4 individuals: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Institute of Materials Science; Vietnam Institute of Technology Science; Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy, Deputy Head of the Department of drug-related crime investigation police, Dien Bien's Public Security; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, Director of the Center for labor education No 2 (Ha Noi); Ms. Tran Thanh Hong, President of the Long An Women's Union.

 

In a speech at the meeting, Mme. Ha Thi Khiet, President of the Vietnam Women’s Union, President of the National Committee for the Advancement of the Vietnamese Women, President of Committee for Vietnamese Women Prize emphasized that the winning collectives and individuals in this year are very excellent and typical. In whichever positions or missions, they are always the expression of Vietnamese women's characteristics, which are resourcefulness for housework, enthusiasm and responsibility for social work, excellence in completing the given tasks. Their endeavour and achievement express not o­nly their talent and creativeness but also the power of women and the power of humane and faith, partly affirming the nature of "being dynamic, creative, innovative, resourceful" of the Vietnamese women in the country's Doi Moi process.

 

Awarding the Vietnamese Women Prize is an activity, which has profound socio-political meaning as it honors the Vietnamese women's talent, as well as acknowledges the role and power of women at all strata in contributing to the country's industrialization and modernization.
