“Month for The Poor” Drive Launched Nationwide

The Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee has launched the “Month for the Poor” drive which will last from Oct 17 to November 18 to raise fund for disadvantaged people.
.

The former campaign “Days for the Poor”, launched from 2000, has received VND1, 700 billion until now.

 

Responding to the emulation movement of construction of houses for the poor, 41,000 homes were built and repaired nationwide. Millions of the disadvantaged people received help for housing, employment, health and others. The authorities also created favorable conditions for their children to go to school.

 

Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Pham The Duyet has called for individuals, organizations, enterprises and overseas Vietnamese to take part in the “Month for the Poor”. Every individual will save o­ne day's salary to support the “Fund for the Poor”.

 

The individuals and organizations throughout the country have donated VND1.6 billion to the “Fund for the Poor”, which was also given VND1 billion by the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Fatherland Front Central Committee.

 

The Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee awarded a certificate of merit to the HCMC’s authorities for the city’s contribution of the “Fund for the Poor”.
