On July 16th, the Central Vietnam Women's Union (VWU), in collaboration with the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, organized a review workshop on implementation of four policy packages to support safe childbirth for ethnic minority women and child healthcare.

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), leaders of the Central Vietnam Women's Union paid a visit and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, martyr’s mother, families of social policy, people with meritorious services to the revolution, heroine of the People's Armed Forces, young female volunteers, and women with years of communist party member in provinces, including Lao Cai, Hoa Binh, Tay Ninh, Lam Dong, and Ha Noi city.

On May 18th, within the framework of "Women's Day on the digital transformation journey”, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) solemnly held the Award Ceremony of the Contest “Applying Information Technology (IT) in VWU’s 2024 Activities”.

Responding to the Month of Action for the Environment and World Environment Day (June 5), VWU at all levels across the country is promoting women's active participation in environmental protection for a greener, cleaner, safer life.

With a network of more than 5,000 center leaders at 22 TYM branches participating directly every day and ensuring an important role in grassroots activities, in 2024, TYM has developed a plan and implemented the exploitation of phrase training activities with many improvements and innovations.

PLEIKU, Vietnam, March 6, 2024 – A dialogue was held between Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and the local women under the theme "Policies to support women's economic development". The event drew the attendance of nearly 800 participants, both in-person in the Provincial Hall and online from 16 districts.

International integration brings both opportunities and challenges for women in various fields. Women need to enhance their knowledge and skills to avoid the risk of falling behind. To support women's proactive and effective integration, the Central Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) directed the development of some models for supporting women's integration in 2021.

In the country's integration process, we cannot overlook the important role and contribution of Vietnamese women. Supporting women's international integration is therefore a great concern and importance to the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU).

The Campaign “Building the family of 5 Without-s and 3 Clean-s”, which was launched by the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) in 2010, has assisted many households not only to escape from poverty but also to become better off.

On November 14, the Vietnam Women's Union organized a review conference on the “Anti-Plastic Waste” movement, period 2018 - 2023. The movement, deeply embedded in all strata of women nationwide into a spirited and widespread effort, aiming to join hands collecting, recycling, and reducing single-use plastic waste, for environmental protection.

The conference to review the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between VWU and Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd. in 2023 was organized on November 24.

On November 22, Alternate member of CPV Central Commitee, VWU Vice President Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, and the delegation visited to monitor the implementation of Project 8 and the activities under “Supporting women in border and island areas”program in Nam Ban border commune (Nam Nhun district, Lai Chau).

Annually, the VWUs at all levels coordinate with the local SPB to organize training courses to improve knowledge and management skills for trust managers and loan & savings team leaders.

Hanoi, November 11: the Vietnam Women’s Union organized the National Final Award Ceremony of the Contest for children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas to create gender equality media products titled "Listen to your Child”.

Ceremony of the Vietnamese Women’s Award for the year of 2022 and 2023, and the contest “Learning positive values of relief and religion in family life and gender equality promotion 2023” were held by the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) in Hanoi on November 27.

On 24th November in Hanoi, the Vietnam Women's Union held a national review Conference on the two - year implementation of the "Patron-parents" Program. On the occasion of the Month of Action for Gender Equality, Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in 2023 that takes place from November 15th to December 15th, 2023, The Newspaper of Vietnamese Women had a conversation with Ms. Duong Ngoc Linh, Director of CWD, to discuss the issue of raising awareness, increasing empowerment and creating opportunities for women and girls to implement gender equality and the elimination of gender-based violence.

On January 8, 2021, Vietnam Women's Union issued Resolution on supporting women in international integration through 2030 with the goal to raise awareness of and capacity of VWU cadres, members and women for international integration in various fields, such as culture, social affairs, science and technology, economy, security, national defense, and foreign affairs.

"Promoting women's participation in the digital economy is one of the key tasks and solutions in the economic field" is one of the goals and tasks of the National Women's Union at all levels.

On the evening of October 13, 2023, at Hero Nup Street (Pleiku City), the Center for Women and Development collaborated with the Women's Union of Gia Lai province to open an exchange and networking program, introducing a community integration livelihood support model for victims of human trafficking.

On the morning of 23 October 2023, the "White Ribbon Breakfast" event was held in Can Tho with the participation of nearly 100 delegates from departments and agencies; from organisations and unions of Can Tho City.

On the morning of October 19, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) organized a program to praise 293 outstanding Presidents of Grassroots WUs in 2023 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace. With the theme "October Flowers", the program honors the VWU's grassroots staff who have been strongly committed to VWU work and the women's movement nationwide.

Recently, Tinh Thuong Microfinance Institution (TYM) was honored to be awarded a Top Impact Award for ranking top 3 performing financial service provider (FSP) in Asia in the 2023 Microfinance Index by 60 Decibels. TYM is the only representative of Vietnam won this Award.

The regional final round contest of “The 2023 Women’s Start-up, Promoting Indigenous Resources” took place in September at three locations: Nam Dinh, Phu Yen and Ben Tre provinces.

Currently, there are many stereotypes about women in general and female leaders in particular, which greatly affect gender equality, work efficiency, production and life. This situation poses urgent problems related to communications to change public awareness and especially draw the participation of men to increase resources to support women.

Heading towards the 93rd anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union’s establishment, on the morning of September 22, the VWU organized the workshop "Solutions to increase the proportion of women candidates for the 16th National Assembly and People's Council at all levels for 2026 - 2031 term". The event was co-hosted by the Australian People for Health, Education and Development Abroad (APHEDA).

On the morning of August 29, the Central Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) and the Vietnam Border Guard Command has co-organized a seminar "Sharing evaluation results and consulting on solutions to improve quality and replicate effective livelihood models for ethnic minority and border areas” in Viet Tri City (Phu Tho).
