In order to increase the percentage of women elected to the National Assembly and the People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) has early directed its whole system on election work.

According to the quick information from some provincial Election Committees, the percentage of women elected to the provincial People's Council has reached over 30 percent - the target set out for the women’s representation in the People's Council at all levels.

The Vietnamese Government, the Government of Australia, and several United Nations agencies (UNFPA, UNICEF and UN Women) are committed to working together and calling for more joint efforts to end violence against women and children.

In January, 2021, the Project Management Board held a workshop to review the project implementation in 2020 and work out the project plan for 2021 with the participation of leader representatives of Plan Vietnam, People's Committee, education sector, and Women's Union in the two project provinces. The online training "Vietnamese women are confident in doing business" held by Google’s Women Will, Unilever under the sponsorship of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) is a one of the practical activities providing Vietnamese women with knowledge and application of science and technology advances in the digital age, creating opportunities for women members to enhance their capability for business start-up, aiming to support 1 million Vietnamese women in doing business by 2025.
