Workshop on “Presentation skills and cross-cultural sensitivity”
Mr. David is currently a communication consultant and has delivered seminars, workshops, keynote addresses, and one-on-one coaching sessions for thousands of people throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
Opening the workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Linh, Head of the VWU’s International Relations Department emphasized that the workshop has practical significance for the VWU’ staffs in learning experiences in presentation and communication which will help them to become more confident and active in implementing the VWU’ activities.
At the workshop, Mr. David highlighted the benefits of effective communication, factors contributing to successful presentation and especially emphasized the audience-oriented approach. Besides, he gave some advice on using physical tools, visual aids and managing nerves. He also noted that people should avoid arbitrary humor because it may sometimes cause cultural shocks. Tips on cross-cultural sensitivity, media interviews and public relations are excitingly shared through specific examples and close interaction with the participants.
The workshop was highly appreciated and ended successfully with the enthusiastic response from the participants.
