Women across the country joyfully embrace “Ao Dai Week” 2026
“Ao Dai Week” is being implemented nationwide by women’s unions at all levels from March 1 to March 8, 2026. The initiative, launched nationwide by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Women’s Union, marks the 116th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910–2026), the 1,986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising, and welcomes the upcoming elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term.

Over the years, “Ao Dai Week” has evolved into a meaningful cultural movement, affirming the enduring value of the ao dai in modern social life.

Responding to the call from the Central Women’s Union, women’s unions at all levels have organized diverse and vibrant activities, creating a festive March atmosphere throughout the country.

The Central Vietnam Women’s Union responds to Ao Dai Week 2026.

In Hanoi, many activities are implemented to respond to “Ao Dai Month” launched by the Hanoi Women’s Union.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the 12th Ao Dai Festival 2026, themed “Golden Threads – Weaving Aspirations,” adds brilliance to March celebrations.

In Hue, building the image of the “Ao Dai Capital”, encouraging women to wear ao dai at workplaces and community events. Notably, the "Ao Dai of Love" program has gifted nearly 2,000 sets of ao dai to disadvantaged women members. The goal is for 100% of members to have an ao dai to wear at important events, including Election Day.
