Wheelchair Recipient Assessment Training of trainers in Hanoi
The participants were trained on the wheelchair recipient assessment process so as to determine a right-sized wheelchair based on such data as types of disabilities, health status, and experience using a wheelchair. They also practiced explaining to some disabled guests and their family members how to use and maintain wheelchairs, and how to move themselves or assist in moving someone in wheelchairs in different terrains.
After the training, participants were equipped with the necessary skills to use wheelchairs safely. They are the ones to organize similar training courses for those who directly carry out wheelchair programs and family members of the disabled.
The training course was successful as it not only helped participants improve their knowledge and skills, but also raised awareness about the disabled and the challenges they face. To conclude the course, LDSC handed over wheelchairs to the disabled guests.
