The team beat China 2-0 in the final to take top prize at the Fashion Island Department Store.
Three member squads had to compete in a round-robin format.
In the preliminarily round, Vietnam beat South Korea, Japan and China with 2-0 wins.
For their victory, the team received a VND5 million (US$227) cash prize from the chairman of the Sepak Takraw Federation, Nguyen Xuan Luong.
The men’s team beat China 3-0 before losing to Thailand after three sets on July 8. they also lost to both South Korea and Japan.
Vietnam’s 28 –member squad of men and women competed in regu, doubles and hoop events at the championships.
Amongst other wins in recent years, Vietnam bagged two gold medals after beating Thailand, who invented the sport, in the women’s finals in Doha, Quatar in 2006.
Sepak takraw has now been included in the third Asian Indoor Games, which wil be hosted for the first time in Vietnam in October this year.
